Coach Liubov (Luba) grew up in Moldova, part of the USSR. Luba earned her BA Degree from the State Pedagogig, University of Moldova.Coach Luba’s professional goal is to teach good swimming technique and, through excellence in training and workouts, to help swimmers go faster. Luba’s personal goal is to develop fast swimmers, thereby helping the club grow larger, stronger and more successful.
Coach Luba was Moldova’s National Coach and a USSR National Team Coach prior to coming to the USA. She was awarded a USSR Government medal for “outstanding working achievements” and “Honor Coach of Moldova”. Luba was also a Bronze Medalist at the 1969 USSR National Championships.
Working with children, seeing their smiling faces, hearing their humorous, innocent comments and their happiness when she arrives on deck motivates Coach Luba each day. Luba loves her groups and her swimmers want to see them go fast and have fun. Every workout counts!

Throughout her time at SCSC, Coach Luba has led numerous swimmers to compete at JO’s, Far Westerns, Western Zones and Futures Championships. Many of her swimmers have been medalists both in individual events and as part of relays.
Luba also led several of her age group swimmers to Junior National qualifying times and broken Pacific Swimming Age Group Records. Many swimmers have also been recognized by USA Swimming’s Age Group Top 10 Program.
Coach Luba has also been nominated as Pacific Swimming Age Group Coach of the year several times and in 2015 was a finalist for the National Age Group Coach of the year.
Luba enjoys swimming, hiking and sailing in her free time.
